Spinal Stenosis Private Duty Nursing
Spinal Stenosis typically develops as a person ages causing numbness, cramping or pain on one side of the body or the other. The symptoms gradually worsen over time or get worse when you stand or walk upright. Care providers are trained to help patients with spinal stenosis manage their pain and keep them as active as possible.
The care provider will assist patients with the activities of daily living:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Toileting
- Transferring
- Ambulating (walking)
- Continence care and feeding (as needed by the patient and recommended by their physician)
- Medication reminders
- Run errands
- Light housekeeping
- Accompany to doctor's appointments
- Monitor for gross behavioral changes
- Help to maintain safety
- Passive exercises
